From start, taxi, takeoff and landing this is a full two-hour program (one-hour flight time). Your flight is taken in one of our high-wing, 4-place, Cessna Skyhawks.

Guided by an experienced flight instructor, our young guest will learn how an airplane is started, get to actually taxi (drive it on the ground), and share in the other pre-takeoff pilot duties.

Flying the airplane! —While under the guidance of the instructor, she/he holds the controls (all of our aircraft have two sets of controls) and flies the airplane. And, we throw in a little geography lesson too!

Flight time is 1/2 hour. One adult may ride along (depending on weight and size) for same price.

Recommended for ages 7 to 12.

Rusty Pilot Training Course (ground and flight lessons)

You're always a pilot no matter how long it's been since you last logged PIC time. But while that small pilot certificate sitting in your wallet never expires our skills do tarness when not used consitently. If you have been out of the left seat for a while you'll need a Flight Review and probably some additional brushing up on the knowledge and skills required to act as pilot-in-command of an aircraft.

All Returning pilots share many of the same concerns when re-starting their training. Will I need to start all over?  Are the new avionics and airspace regulations going to be hard to learn? Can I handle the increased traffic and radio work around the local airports? TakeWING instructors specialize in making your transition back to flying easy, fun and safe! We really do understand how to help you over the hurdles of getting back into the sky.

TakeWING’s Rusty Pilot Course includes 2 aircraft rental hours in either a  C-172 or LSA and 3.5 hours of instruction. This course is meant to get you started back on the right track toward safely becoming current and competent to be the pilot-in-command again.

Depending on the length of time you have been away from flying you may need additional training to complete your FAA Flight Review — this is an excellent way to get that process started!
