“Do one thing every day that scares you.”— Eleanor Roosevelt
The first time your instructor says, “pull over I need to get out,” you might actually think she/he is crazy! But rest assured, we know when you are ready and we know that the moment you takeoff and land by yourself you will be forever changed.
What’s Solo?
(It all started when you took your FirstStep™ . . .)
Learning to fly SOLO — when it’s just YOU and you alone in the airplane — teaches you the basics of what you need to know to safely fly an airplane, and it all happens in the first 15 to 20 hours of flight training.
How Long Does It Take To Solo?
If you stick to a consistent weekly schedule of lessons, complete your homework assignments on time, and both the weather and wind cooperate, you can expect to solo in as little as 15 to 20 flight hours. Whether you are training to be a sport or private pilot, all the pre-solo training focuses on the FAA’s strict knowledge and maneuvers requirements
How Long Do Lessons Take?
Prior to soloing you’ll learn the majority of all flight fundamentals, so you should expect your training sessions to be around 2 1/2 hours long. Of that, about 1-hour is in-flight and the rest is learning about new aeronautical concepts or maneuvers and debriefing after each flight.
